Lets Talk PanelPlace: World Cup Festival

The World Cup is back! In July, PanelPlace tapped on the soccer sensation to look for 20 enthusiast World Cup experts who have a strong passion for this specific sports. Participants were encouraged to answer 10 questions to test their knowledge about the “World Cup.”

Amazingly, there were a total of 2037 soccer lovers have joined this quiz within our two weeks promotion. Have you aced the quiz?

Question #1:


Answer: July 13, 1930

That’s right! According to History.com, the first world cup were hosted on July 13 1930. There were 93,000 spectators seated in the stadium and watching the final match waiting for the results. 85.6% of participants got it correctly!

Question #2:


Answer: The Uruguay National Football Team

Information obtained from FIFA.com, the first ever world cup were organized from 13 - 30 July 1930. It was an intense match between The Uruguay National Football Team against Argentina. After a tough battle, The Uruguay National Football Team won the glory trophy with a score of 4-2. 75.8% of our participants for this correctly!

Question #3:


Answer: Brazil

Figures obtained from Statista.com, Brazil have won at least 5 world cup winner title ever since 1930s. They have won the world cup tournament in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. There were 78% of our football lover aced this question!

Question #4:


Answer: Germany

In World Cup 2014, the final match was between Germany and Argentina. During the 90 minutes match, it was a tie. Extra time was given to both team and determine whether a winner. Luckily, Germany goaled! It was a tough match of 1-0. 79% of participants got it right.

Question #5:


Answer: Russia

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is the 21st tournament hosted. It was took place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. Final match was between France and Croatia. Honorary, France won the “World Cup” winner this year with a score of 4-2. There are 93% of participants got this answer correctly.

Question #6:


Answer: Waka Waka - Shakira

Details from “The 10 Best World Cup Songs Ever: The Definitive List From 1962 to Today”, Shakira’s Waka Waka is still coming in at No. 38 on the Billboard 100. The music video achieved 1.8 billion views up till now and it’s the 26th most-viewed video in YouTube history. Even 8 years after the releases, Shakira’s Waka Waka still have an average of 1 million per day. 50% of our soccer lover got this right!

Question #7:


Which football team have our football lovers predicted to be the 2018’s World Cup winner? As shown below, majority of the votes believed that Brazil and France would win the tournament by receiving 32% and 22% respectively.
